No.2 High School of Jinan 2004-11-3

    According to the sister-school agreement signed by Jinan No 2 High School and Vaskivuori Upper Secondary School, Mr Jukka Lehtinen, a music teacher from Vantaa Vaskivuori Upper Secondary School comes to our school for a two-week teaching from Oct 11th to Nov 7 in the year 2004. The main jobs Mr Lehtinen does here are directing the chorus of No 2 High School, giving oral English lessons to students and teaching Finnish.
    During Mr Lehtinen's stay in Jinan, his excellent teaching ideas and arts quality as well as devoted working attitude leave a deep impression on the mind of both the teachers and students in our school. We have gained a lot from him.
    From 0ct15th to Nov 3, Mr Lehtinen directs the chorus of No. 2 High School carefully and devotedly. Every day the 90 minutes' rehearsal is fulfilled with high efficiency and good quality. The students practise carefully and make notable improvement.
    During the four weeks' teaching in No 2 High School, Mr Lehtinen gives lectures on Finnish education to more than 1000 students from 20 classes. His rich teaching materials and interacting teaching ways are well received.
    Every week Mr Lehtinen gives Finnish lessons to teachers. He uses proper teaching book and methods to help our teachers learn simple Finnish in the limited time.
    Mr Lehtinen gives a public music lesson to all the music teachers in Jinan on Nov. 2 . Through his lecture, we know more about music teaching ideology in Finland and learn some useful teaching ways.
With the combined efforts that China and Finland have made, Mr Jukka Lehtinen completes his teaching successfully. On Nov 2 and 3, the chorus of No 2 High School gives three performances, two for students and one for the school faculty and parents. Mr Liu Yuangang, director of Jinan Education Bureau attends the performances. The harmonious and beautiful singing wins the warm applauses of the audience. Music is like a bridge that reaches the understanding and communication between the people in China and Finland. What we have done and got in the foreign affairs are highly appreciated by the authorities.
    As a friendly envoy, Mr Jukka is warmly welcome by Jinan Municipal Government, Jinan Education Bureau, and the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office. Vice mayor Mr Wang Tianyi, vice director of municipal government office Mr Qi jia, Director of Jinan Education Bureau Mr Liu Yuangang and vice director Chen dongsheng meet and entertain Mr Jukka separately They thank what Jukka has done for strengthening the friendship between Chinese and Finnish people.
    Mr Jukka Lehtine has a great interest in Chinese culture. During his stay in Jinan, he visits Jinan bilingual school, the folklore garden and historic spots Qufu and lingyan Temple. China's long-standing history, abundant products and friendly people strikes our Finnish people deeply.
    The four-week teaching exchange activities enhance the cooperation and communication between our two cities as well as two schools, which also lays positive foundation for the further cooperation. We believe our exchanges in the future will be more typical and
This activity broadens our views and makes our school more opening and internationalized. Through the contact with Mr Jukka Lehtinen, the students study more actively, they begin to realize the importance of self-discipline and self-management. At the same time they get to know the European culture and learn more about Finland and Finnish people.
